The island’s quiet north

Pacifico.

An hour north of the General Luna crowds, on Siargao’s northeastern tip · a surf town that still moves at the island’s old speed.

The surf

Two breaks, no lineup.

Pacifico surfs in two moods. Big Wish, off the main beach, is the famous one · a long, powerful left-hand reef break, rare on an island where most waves peel right, at its best from October to March when the northeast swells arrive. It is an experienced surfer’s wave. Bamboo, just along the coast, is the gentler mood · a cruisy wall that suits longboards and intermediates, and in the small swells of spring even first-timers with a local coach.

The distance from General Luna is the filter · the surfers who make it up here get uncrowded water, and the local coaches have time for you.

Eat & drink

Slow mornings, long lunches.

Our own short list, walked and eaten often: Meraki for coffee the way a slow morning deserves it · North Dirty Kitchen for lunch when the surf has taken everything you had · and a small Japanese kitchen we keep going back to. Ask us when you are here · the list grows with every stay.

Beyond the water

The north, at its own pace.

A tennis court at Yapak for late-afternoon sets · empty white-sand stretches where the only footprints are yours · palm roads made for a slow habal-habal ride. The north is not a list of attractions · it is the part of Siargao that still feels like Siargao.
